Biography

Nyx was brought into care after her previous owners moved and left her behind in the apartment. At first she was extremely aggressive and defensive towards people, but since being spayed and getting comfortable in her foster home, she's really come out of her shell. It can take some time to gain her trust but once she's used to you, she's very sweet. She isn't a fan of her lower back being touched but loves head pets and will just melt into the floor if you rub her cheeks. She also has super cute airplane ears at times as when she's happy or relaxed, her right ear will drop!
Nyx would do well in a relatively quiet home with no young children. She’s never bitten anyone or tried to bite, but will still grunt and lunge if she feels threatened or is touched somewhere she doesn’t like (like her lower back/butt area). She prefers to have all four feet on the ground at all times, like most bunnies do, so she should only be picked up when absolutely necessary. She would be a good candidate to bond with a shy and lonely boy bunny who she can lean on for comfort. It’s hard to say if Nyx would be the more dominant or submissive one in the relationship so she’d pair best with an easy going boy bunny who’s very loving.

Since Nyx is now a senior, she takes metacam twice a day to help with her arthritis. She occasionally needs some help grooming around her bum area since she doesn't keep up with her grooming as much as she used to. As mentioned above, she doesn't like being picked up but she's actually really good for when you need to groom her and trim her nails. She's been in the same foster home for a few years and has developed a routine with her foster mom, so a calm home where she can stick to a similar routine would be ideal for her. She's pretty low energy and likes to nap in different spots and hang out beside the resident cat, and play with her toys or find a new hiding spot. We'd love for Nyx to have a husbun to keep her company during her golden years, but we think she'd also be good with a human who can spend lots of time with her (ie someone who works from home).
