Biography
Pearl is a big, beautiful girl who has had a very rough start to life. She was kept in a tiny cage and used for breeding, having litter after litter of babies. She wasn’t well socialized and was extremely fearful of humans when she was first rescued. She used to run away and hide and thump whenever she’d see someone. Thankfully with lots of love from her foster parents over the last few months, she’s turned into such a confident girl! She is obsessed with food and gets a bit overexcited for pellets, so they must be scatter fed to avoid her accidentally nipping. Bowls of pellets are too exciting for her but she does just fine if they’re scattered on the ground. She’s good with all other foods (greens, treats, hay) and is gentle when being hand fed those. Pearl is a sweetheart and will melt for pets as soon as she knows you don’t have any treats in your hand. She’s even become good with children and is gentle with the toddler in her foster home. Her past has made her not fond of other rabbits so she may not be the best candidate for bonding, and we think she’d be happy in a hope as a solo rabbit, maybe with a gentle cat friend (and of course love and attention from her humans!) Pearl is around 10lbs and starting to grow grey fur on her ears and nosey so we suspect that she’s a Californian/flemish mix. She’s already been spayed and vaccinated and is ready to find her forever home! She needs a home with confident humans who don’t flinch away from her as that makes her nervous. She wasn’t treated well in her past life and can lunge when she thinks someone has bad intentions around her (by flinching or running away from her) but as long as you’re confident and stand your ground she’s totally fine and will even give kisses.
